Although Mina got himself on the scoresheet against England, it was a disappointing night as his nation were eiliminated from the World Cup on penalties, losing 4-3.
The defender expressed his sadness at the result, but said that they must stay motivated. "I am sad because we wanted to win the game," he said. "We gave it everything, we left with heartache."
"But you have to keep your head up and thank this wonderful group which filled us with confidence. We deserved more after everything we fought for."
"Now everyone is sad, in a slump, but that's football, we now need to pick ourselves back up."
Mina, who scored three goals at the World Cup, is convinced that Colombia "will be proud" of their players "who have everything and left nothing on the field."
On a different topic, the Colombian was asked if he has to prove anything to Barcelona. "No, I don't need to demonstrate my level to anybody," he said. "God has given me talent, I have to work myself into the ground every time I play, and enjoy it."
Finally, he sent a message. "I have always been calm and trusted in God," he stated.
