Zinedine Zidane can remain calm. Unless a huge offer he cannot refuse suddenly comes along, it seems last year's Ballon d'Or winner will be staying put.
Last year it was Inter who's interest was peaked, and this year it was the city rival's turn to show their interest. This came as a surprise, as the team's sports director Zvonimir Boban said that the club, who is undergoing an important economic deficit, could not possibly afford Modric.
In fact, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has said that Milan met with the Croatian's agent to see if he would possibly be interested in parting ways with Real Madrid.
But it seems Modric's answer was a resounding "no". He is convinced his place is in the Santiago Bernabeu, where he still feels that Zinedine Zidane counts on him, which seems to be true if this past season is taken into account.
It is also worth mentioning that the 33 year old Croatian player has two more years left on his contract after his Ballon D'Or win, which automatically extended it to one more season as a reward for his success.
