After contract talks broke down, Suso's Milan future is up in the air. The midfielder, whose release clause stands at 40 million Euros, has been linked with a move to Atlético Madrid over the past week, but the Italian side want to keep him at the club.
Although previous reports suggested that Milan were ready to cash in on Suso, 'Sky Sports' have refuted this, suggesting that the club have made it clear to the player's agent that they want him to stay next season.
However, the 25 year-old may not fit in to his new manager's system. Giampaolo usually deploys his team in a 4-3-1-2 formation, which doesn't have a place for a wide-man like Suso.
Atlético are monitoring the situation closely, and remain interested in bringing in a player that Simeone is reportedly a big fan of. In the season just gone, the former Liverpool player scored 8 goals and provided 10 assists in 41 games.
