The Barcelona coach, in an extensive interview with 'Catalunya Radio', talked about how the team is just a few days before their first league game back, and more specifically, Leo Messi and Luis Suarez.
He began talking about La Liga's restart. "It's enough time. All clubs and managers would have liked to have another week to train as a group," he said, reiterating his comments from a few days ago.
"There have been lots of training sessions which were not real. We are all going to be affected in the same way," he added.
On Messi, Setien explained that he will be perfect for the Mallorca clash. "We did not have any doubts over him being in Mallorca. There have also been problems with others. He stopped as a precaution," he revealed.
When asked about Suarez, Setien was more cautious. "It's something we have to talk about. He could probably play from the off. It would be reckless for him to play the whole game," the boss explained.
"We don't know whether he'll play at the beginning or the end. It's very good, but we have to avoid putting him at risk. Any problem makes you miss three or four games, something that would affect him negatively," Setien said about the Uruguayan.
He also talked about the five substitution rule. "In some moments it will be bad for us, but other times it would help us. It will depend on how the games are going. This will give you the option in a comfortable game to rest certain players. This will depend on how the games are going."
He made clear that the special cirucmstances will not make him change his game plan. "We are always going to try and maintain our plan and our philosophy, which is to be brave and have the ball. Then, there will be small things, but in principle, this situation won't affect us at all. It all depends on the scoreline," he commented.
"What is never going to change is the intention and the philosophy. The guidelines we set. The formation or tactics could change sometimes."
The Barca manager finished off speaking about Arthur and Griezmann. "Just like the rest of the players, they do very good things and other not so good things. I'm very happy with his performance. He is trying to incorporate other things we asked for," he said about the Brazilian.
"They are in great form, excited and keen. I count on all of them. Now I'm not stopping to think what could happen because we have two very important competitions. I tell all of them to focus on training and not get distracted by things which could make their performances drop," he added.
And he only had good things to say about the Frenchman. "I'm satisfied. When I came to Barca, I'm delighted with his work and his performances. We maybe all expected a bit more, but I'm quite satisfied," Quique Setien said to conclude.
