Although his presence in the club didn't have much of an impact, signing Paul Pogba from Juventus, Ariedo Braida knows first hand the ins and outs of Barcelona.
The former consultant to the club spoke this Thursday about Leo Messi, who created a crisis in the club when he asked to leave via fax.
There were times when a lot of sources were leaning towards a possible Manchester City move for Messi, but Braida was always clear that the '10' would stay at Camp Nou.
"From the start, I argued that Messi was not going to leave Barcelona and in the end I was right," said the Italian in a statement to 'TMW'.
Similarly, Braida gave hope to Barca fans that Leo Messi, whose contract at the club ends at the end of this season, would stay at Barca in the future.
"If they are well advised, he will stay in the future too. His issue is with the leaders, he is loved by the fans throughout the city. He has been there for 20 years and I believe he will continue," he said.
