Messi tells off his team after Granada defeat

The journalist Helena Condis from radio station 'Cadena COPE' reports that Leo Messi gave his teammates a telling off after the defeat at Los Carmenes. The Argentine, aware of the club's recent rotten away record, hopes the team can turn things around in the next few matches,

Seven points out of 15, six of them at home. Barca have a serious problem away from home. Even Ernesto Valverde admitted in the post match press conference that his team had a problem on their travels.

"Whether we concede a goal or not, we must show our play from the beginning. We are especailly bad away from home," the Barca coach made clear. The team did not play well and errors in defence meant they were defeated by Granada.

An issue which even affects Leo Messi. After being injured at the start of the season, the Argentine played again at Los Carmenes. He came on at half-time to try and lift his team

Even though you could tell he was not 100%. he is still a magical player. He managed to create a couple of opportunities and even tried to hit a couple of shot. As well as being about skill. attitude plays a big factor.

Messi called for a reaction from his team after the defeat to Granada according to 'COPE' journalist Helena Condis.

The Argentinian striker apparently made clear to the rest of the squad the need "to be more focussed" in a game like this. Barca are going off tracl and the senior players know that. As do Pique, who was upset for the whole game, and coach Valverde.

Barca have not got an easy set of games ahead of them. They have to play four games in the next 15 days and although the season has only just begun, they cannot afford to keep slipping up.

Villarreal are their next opponents. The Yellow Submarine will travel to the Camp Nou before the Catalans travel to Getafe. Four days later, they host Inter in the Champions League before hosting Sevilla on 6th October before the international break. At least three of those are at home.

Four matches in 15 days which will be important to see whether the team are capable of fighting back from the early disappointments.
