As well as going over what happened on that night at Anfield, another of the big attractions of the press conference was to see what two senior players of the squad thought about Griezmann's possible arrival.
Towards the end of the press conference, Pique and Messi were asked about the Frenchman, but the Argentine gave a brief answer. "I am not giving my opinion," he said.
Something which could be interpreted as a distraction with the cup final against Valencia in mind and talk of the Liverpool game in the press room, but it could also be that Messi is no longer so enthusiastic about his arrival.
And that would be in stark contrast to last year. When there was talk of Griezmann's arrival at the Camp Nou, Messi gave an interview in which he said wonderful things about the Frenchman.
"I don't know if he is a priority. I agree that to win the Champions League again we have to have the best players. And Griezmann is one of them," he said at the time.
