Leo Messi arrived in his hometown of Rosario on Wednesday to spent Christmas with his family. It will be a very brief trip because he has to be back in Barcelona for 27th December.
Images from the local press show that the 33 year-old arrived in his private jet just after 10:30am local time (14:30 CET).
Minutes later, he was spotted going down onto the runway with his family and getting on an airport bus to take him to the terminal building.
The striker will spend Christmas at home in Rosario. That is where he began his footballing career before moving to Barcelona and becoming one of the best players of all time.
His stay in Argentina is expected to be brief because on 27th December, Barcelona will return to training ahead of the game with Eibar on the 29th.
Messi's trip to Argentina comes just a day after going past Pele's historic record for number of goals scored by a player for a single club. The former Brazilian football netted 643 times for Santos and the Argentine is on 644 for Barca.
