Ronald Koeman has managed to get Barca performing at their best ahead of the key part of the campaign. They were knocked out of the Champions League, but they still have the chance to win La Liga and Copa del Rey. You can tell he has been working on the team, but he still has work to do for the rest of the season.
One of those is to try and play Miralem Pjanic. The Bosnian, who was to replace Arthur, has seen how he is hardly playing now. That has become worse in 2021. In an interview with 'Mundo Deportivo', the player said he wanted to turn around the situation.
Pjanic knows that the club had faith in him when they signed him and they he wants to be able to become important,: "I didn't sign for Barca to leave the following year. I want to win the Champions League here." He is not thinking of leaving the Catalan capital in the next transfer window.
"I'm asking Koeman for two or three games to show my football and because it is what a footballer needs, but I'm going to keep on working," the midfielder added. At the moment, he has played 28 this season and started 13 of them (1185 minutes).
He also admitted that he hopes to soon be able to play in front of Barca fans, a privilege he is yet to enjoy: I dream about playing in front of a full Camp Nou. I've experienced that playing against Barcelona and it's impressive. I want to have it when playing for Barca as soon as possible."
The Bosnian also talked about his relationship with Messi, which he classed as "spectacular." "Leo speaks a lot to me and explains things about the environment which escape me. He's been looking out for me from the first moment, cheering me up and helping me," he said.
