Barca's main priority is renewing Leo Messi. The number 10 has been a free agent since June and Barca are hoping to change this in the coming days.
According to 'Mundo Deportivo' this Wednesday, the renewal is on track. There are just some small details to sort out.
Barca president Joan Laporta is planning to have it all sorted this Wednesday. If he manages it, the club could announce the much awaited renewal of Messi on Thursday.
The Catalan paper says that even if Barca made his renewal official this Thursday, his registration is another issue. There he would have to work with the board so that it does not upset the club's finances.
Laporta recently commented on Messi's future. "His contract has still not been sorted, but we are progressing," he said.
The president's plan is to announce Messi's renewal ahead of the Gamper Trophy match with Juventus. The number 10 is still on holiday and he will not train until he pens a new deal.
