Messi - 2nd player to score in last-16, quarters, semis and final of WC

Leo Messi continues to make history in Qatar. Argentina's main man opened the scoring of the final after a controversial penalty. But what cannot be disputed is his massive influence in this World Cup. 

With this goal, the Argentine completed a more-than-memorable knock-out stage. In fact, he became the first player to score in every round since 1938, that is to say, the third World Cup in history.

In that World Cup, Hungarian Gyorgy Sárosi found the net against Indonesia in the last-16 (twice), against Switzerland in the quarters, Sweden in the semis and Italy in the final, when Hungary lost to the hosts.

The difference is that, back then, there were no group stages. The World Cup started straight from the last-16 stage, while Messi has also scored in this stage. He did against Saudi Arabia and Mexico, as well as scoring in the last-16 against Australia, in the quarters against The Netherlands, and in the semi-final against Croatia, all before getting another in the final against France.
