Medical researcher advises not opening the Camp Nou until Autumn

Medical researcher Oriol Mitjà (Barcelona, 39), a doctor specialising in internal medicine and infectious diseases, said in an interview to 'RAC1' that he would advise not opening the Nou Camp until Autumn due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In an extensive interview to learn about the state of the COVID-19 pandemic, Oriol Mijà, associated with the Can Ruti hospital of Badalona (Barcelona), insisted on maintaining "the measures of social distancing" and to opt in the medium term for certain allowances in deconfinement, but very slowly to avoid a new outbreak of infection.

When he was asked about sporting events and the dates for resuming which some Federations and leagues are working with, Mitjà again referred to the importance that COVID-19 doesn't provoke a pandemic again when the number of infections are reducing as "confinement is the only way to control the virus until pharmacological measures are in place".
