Because of his age, Kylian Mbappé would be able to play in the Tokyo Olympics. The player is less than 23 and, although his time in the France youth teams is more than over, he could receive the call from the French manager to go to Asia.
Didier Deschamps hasn't supported nor is against this unexpected move. He says that the team that has to worry is PSG.
"After an exhausting season, a tournament in early July -the Euros- and another in mid-August -Olympics-, which could put the player's physical condition at risk, could be excessive. But the decision should be made by PSG and their manager, not me", Deschamps declared.
In case he plays, Deschamps wouldn't be able to count upon Kylian for the matches in September, but this is something that the French manager isn't too concerned about.
"His call up for the Tokyo Olympic Games does not affect our deadlines, so it is not for me to make that decision. The important thing is that he is available for Euro 2020 with us", Deschamps noted.
Since the 1930s, no player has won two similar tournaments back to back. Then, several Uruguayans won the Olympic gold after winning the World Cup. Sergio Ramos, who could even be one of the overage players, could also achieve this feat.
