As of today, it is impossible to now how high Kylian Mbappe will rise to. At the moment, it seems like the Frenchman does not know any boundaries and is aware that he has the capability of being the main figure at PSG or any other team in the world. He is not short of humility, but not short of reason either.
In May, Mbappe was the first to set alarm bells ringing during the French Footballers Association prize ceremony when he said that he needed to have more responsiblities at PSG or another team in the world. That sparked talk of a possible departure, something which could happen next year.
Mbappe does not want to see himself in the shadow of a Neymar who has spent more time being injured and being criticised then playing that direct football which earned him a 222 million euro move to Paris. Now, the 19 year-old striker knows that his name will have more weight because Neymar has more than one foot out of PSG, but not even that is making him think of staying on.
What Mbappe does want is for coach Thomas Tuchel to to give him more privileges on the field of play, that is to say, be the team's penalty taker. That way, a spat like the one there was between Neymar and Cavani is avoided. If Mbappe becomes the penalty taker, he would have more chances of winning the Golden Shoe and knocking Leo Messi off top spot.
According to 'Le Parisien', the striker is not thinking of renewing his contract in such turbulent times at the Parc des Princes and in recent months, the club have been under the spotlight from UEFA because of FFP rules and he has not been able to get very far in the Champions League.
With a player of his size and who has won so much in so little time, it would be normal for Mbappe to want to change club before or when his contract runs out. This would be to increase his chances of winning the Champions League.
After 'Le Parisien's' information came to light, Leonardo, the sporting director, has not wanted to mention this topic because he thinks that would be an added amount of pressure in a very inopportune moment, so he is continuing to speak to Mbappe's inner circle to know if the striker is happy or not.
At the moment, Mbappe will continue at PSG for another season, but there are no guarantees that he continues next summer with Real Madrid ready to pounce.
