Mayor of Madrid gives last farewell to Vicente Calderón

There are no Atlético Madrid fans that don't miss the Calderón, who are not moved by the sight, even if it's in a photo, the slow demolition process of the now practically disappeared Atlético coliseum. Madrid mayor, Martínez-Almeida, Martínez-Almeida, has wanted to give his last goodbye to the stadium.

"How many times have I suffered, cried and laughed here (and many times all in one game...). There are things that transcend the value of the merely football things... The Calderón will always be linked to the memory and the heart of Madrid", he wrote on his official Twitter account.

The Vicente Calderón is in the final phase of its slow and careful demolition. Situated on the banks of the river Manzanares and the M-30, it has been its privileged location that has caused its demolition to be a slow agony for Atlético.
