Olivier Giroud has revealed a hope that he harbours of him remaining a Chelsea player beyond this season, as the London club may well suffer from a transfer ban for 2 transfer windows. Chelsea have appealed against the ban to the FIFA Appeal Committee. The hearing will be on April 11.
The French World Cup winner believes that he will remain at the London club, should the ban be upheld. "At the club we still need to wait to see regarding if we will have the opportunity to get some players" said Giroud. The former Arsenal forward has been linked away from London repeatedly, with Olympique Lyon the main team linked with the 32 year old.
But Giroud isists he is happy playing at Stamford Bridge and would love to continue to do so after this season. 'I am staying objective, and if I can stay at Chelsea I will be happy – but I need to play more. 'For now we have a very big game against Cardiff now at the weekend. There are only eight matches to go, and going for the Champions League places we will be trying to win all of them.'
