The Tajikistan Football Association (FFT) temporarily suspended all scheduled matches until 10th May with the aim of preventing the new coronavirus from reaching the country, whose authorities affirm that there has not been a single case of the viral disease detected.
With this decision taken, all that remained was for the matches corresponding to matchday 4 of the championship to take place. The first two had already taken place, but there were still three to go before the end of the football weekend. There were tight scores and quite a few goals.
Khujand beat Rear TadAZ 2-1 at home. The three points were vital to move them up to fourth place in the table and overtake their opponents. But Khatlon handled the pressure well at the top, as they beat Lokomotive Pamir away from home.
It was not an easy win - a 3-2 - but it was enough to remain second place in the league, tied on points with leaders Istiqlol. The final match of the day was between Dushanbe-83 and CSKA Dushanbe, with the hosts winning.
