Mario Gomez makes 250th Bundesliga appearance against Frankfurt
Germany striker Mario Gomez celebrated his 250th appearance in the Bundesliga as Wolfsburg clashed against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
Gomez played from the start at the Volkswagen Arena as he reached the milestone, with his side looking to recover from a poor start to the German season.
In those 250 games the ex-Bayern Munich man has netted 141 goals, a ratio of more than a goal per game.
The 31-year-old started his career at Stuttgart, where he played for six seasons in the Bundesliga before winning a move to Bayern.
Gomez lifted two Bundesliga titles at the Allianz Arena and also won the Champions League in 2012-13, but left for Fiorentina shortly after having fallen down the pecking order in Bavaria.
After three years away from Germany in Florence and with Besiktas, he returned to his native country for 2016-17, and has to date netted three times for Wolfsburg.
