Maresca hailed Acheampong’s versatility after stellar display against Legia

Chelsea beat Legia Warsaw 3-0 on Thursday in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League quarter-final. After the match young defender Josh Acheampong was praised by his coach Enzo Maresca at a press conference.
Acheampong, who started at right-back, also showed his ability to adapt and then excelled in midfield after the withdrawal of Reece James. "The one I fell in love with tonight was Josh Acheampong. He can be a fantastic player for this club and football in general," Maresca said.
Maresca emphasised that versatility is key for top players, stating, "A good player shows they can play in different positions. The best thing about Josh is he is open. Full-back? No problem. Midfielder? What do I have to do? This is a player who wants to play in all positions and learn," he added.
Although academy graduate Tyrique George also shone by scoring his first goal for the Blues, it was Acheampong's display of maturity that stole the spotlight. His performance has sparked the interest of fans who are already talking about him having a promising future at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea after the Conference League game turn their sights to Sunday's Premier League clash with Ipswich Town as they aim to consolidate their position in the top four amid a tight race for Champions League qualification.
