Marco Rose confirms Xavi Simons stays at RB Leipzig

Xavi Simons has become one of the key players in Marco Rose's squad at RB Leipzig. Despite his youth, the midfielder has proven his quality and worth to help his team.

The Dutch midfielder made a total of 43 appearances, starting 41 of them. Moreover, he has been an indispensable figure for the Netherlands at the European Championship, stepping up and becoming a permanent fixture for Koeman.

His good work did not go unnoticed by the rest of the teams, who focused their eyes on him. One of the most interested was Bayern Munich, who even started talks with PSG.

However, RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose confirmed at the pre-season training camp that Xavi Simons has chosen to stay: "Xavi has decided to spend another year in Leipzig to become a top player with us, to take on responsibility," he told reporters.

As a result, the German club's board is already working to extend the loan for another season, as the Netherlands international has a contract with PSG until 2027.
