Manchester City are calling the shots when it comes to Ferran Torres' transfer. 'Eurosport' said last week that City had reached an agreement with the player and his agent and now we know how much the offer will be: 35 million euros plus variables.
That is what 'Marca' says. The paper explains that in other circumstances that would not be enough for a player like Ferran, but Valencia need to sell.
Peter Lim ordered that the footballers with the highest salaries should be sold to balance the books so Valencia need to sell him now as his contract ends next season. If there is no agreement, Ferran could negotiate with whoever he wants in January to leave for free in a year's time.
Valencia wanted to get 45 million euros for Ferran, but Man City will not pay more than 35. Sane went to Bayern for 47 and City want to spend some of that money on Ferran Torres.
This is therefore their last opportunity to try and get some money for the player. The club put a 100 million euro buyout clause on the player in 2018 to prevent Barca and Real Madrid from taking him, but the club will now have to accept a lot less money than that.
