TEAM NEWS
Man City: Guardiola has no injury worries to deal with bar the long term absence of Leroy Sane. However, he will have to decide whether to go for Aguero or Jesus and also whether to keep Mahrez after his great performance at West Ham or whether to bring back Bernardo Silva. Fernandinho may also return after his extended holiday after the Copa America.
Tottenham: Son misses out and his still suspended while Jan Verthonghen will be hoping Pochettino brings him back into the starting XI after missing out last weekend. Lo Celso is likely to start only on the bench after just having one week of training. Pochettino has to decide on who to play in midfield, but that is purely tactical.
Managers' thoughts
Guardiola was full of praise for Tottenham calling them "the second best team in Europe". The Spaniard referred to the constantly tough matches his team have had to face against Tottenham. He was also asked on Raheem Sterling. "Raheem's playing so good from the beginning, so clinical, but we want more," the Spaniard said, but refused to be drawn on whether Sterling is the most in form player in the league.
Pochettino indicated Christian Eriksen may start despite his future at the club being unclear. He only came on from the bench in the club's win over Aston Villa last weekend. "The selection is not because of the length of the contract", Pochettino said when asked whether the Dane's uncertain future would influence his team selection. The Argentine concluded that winning at the Etihad would be "massive".
