Manchester City
No one has been able to keep up with Guardiola since he made the move to Manchester City. No one, except Jurgen Klopp. Klopp's Liverpool have kept up with Man City's insane form this season, and the Premier League is somehow still at play with only two games left. Now, with only games against Leicester and Brighton & Hove Albion left to come, Guardiola's men are still unable to celebrate back-to-back titles thanks to the never-say-die attitude of Liverpool. Man City are just six points away from retaining their crown, becoming the first English top-flight side in a decade to do so. But their last game at Turf Moor was tense, and the end of the season tiredness is starting to weight on Man City's players. Leicester will have to bring the heat on, as a defeat would not only help Klopp's men, but also almost guarantee a position in European football next season.
Leicester
Leicester are now the only side able to catch Wolverhampton Wanderers in seventh place following their Midlands rivals' 1-0 win over Fulham on Saturday. The top four spots have not been the only interesting occurence in the Premier League, as the race for seventh has also been gripping in recent weeks, with the reward for the winner being a place in the Europa League qualifying rounds. This result could prove important for Brendan Rodgers, who could be able to declare a successful season the swaud he's only recently taken over manages to reach the European championship. Rodgers' side showed last time out what they are capable of against top-six opposition as they dismantled 10-man Arsenal, winning 3 - 0 to get back on track. With only two matches left, these games are all about testing themselves against the highest calibre of opposition.
MANAGER'S THOUGHTS
Pep Guardiola
“From the beginning, you ask me about achievements but I think we have to focus on beating Leicester,”
“I think it helps that Leicester play on the counter-attack. Now, with Brendan Rodgers, they control parts of the game so I think he has showed his quality as a manager".
“In two months, everyone has played how he wants them to play – the movement and positioning is well-coordinated. I was really impressed with how the players play".
Brendan Rodgers
"We're excited by the game, it's a fantastic challenge for us"
“When I came in, in my time here, my aim is to try to bring the club into European football. I can’t complain if we get there early, but it’s going to be tough this year."
"We’re just looking at the next game. Huddersfield unfortunately got relegated, doesn’t make the task any easier. We need to focus and bring our best game and hope we can keep collecting the points".
