Manchester City: Pep Guardiola will be able to call upon playmaker David Silva once again after the Spaniard missed City's last two games for personal reasons. However, starlet Phil Foden will definitely miss out with an ankle problem, whilst captain Vincent Kompany is a doubt. Defenders John Stones (hamstring) and Benjamin Mendy (knee) remain sidelined.
Bournemouth: Striker Jermain Defoe will the miss the game after suffering an ankle ligament injury in the Carabao Cup defeat to Chelsea in midweek. Midfielder Harry Arter is also a doubt after injuring a calf in the same game, whilst Charlie Daniels (groin) and Josh King (hamstring) also face a race against time to prove their fitness.

Form:
The thoughs of City boss Pep Guardiola on potentially signing a centre-back in January:
"I said many times we are going to try. I don't know if we will be able because the market is completely different than in summer time.
"But we have to buy a player not just for the rest of the season, but for the next two, three or four years."
The thoughts of Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe:
"I think we have to believe. I always maintain that, no matter who you play, you have to believe you can win. In saying that, it's going to be incredibly difficult.
"I think we need a mixture of things - we need our players to perform at an extremely high level and we're going to need to be defensively very good with the attacking players they have.
"Probably more importantly, we need a bit of luck, which has deserted us I think in the last few games."
Possible lineups:

Bournemouth: Begovic, A. Smith, Francis, S. Cook, Ake, Stanislas, Gosling, L. Cook, Surman, Fraser, Afobe.
