Man Utd slash players' salaries by 25% after missing out on CL

The result will have consequences as Man Utd can no longer mathematically make the Champions League. And the club are not going to accept that. 

The players will be 'punished'. According to 'The Daily Mail', the club agreed with the footballers that if they did not qualify for the Champions League, their wages would be reduced by 25%. By doing this, Man Utd are trying to save million of pounds due to the reduced income given their lack of Champions League football.

Cristiano Ronaldo, for example, will see his salary drop from 385,000 pounds a week to less than 300,000 if he stays at the club. That would see him earn nearly five million pounds less a year. De Gea would see his salary cut from 375,000 to around 270,000 pounds a week. 

There are those who believe that Cristiano Ronaldo has more than one foot out of Old Trafford. If what 'The Daily Mail' says is true, that could be key to him leaving Manchester this summer.
