Erik ten Hag's project is starting to work. Manchester United move up to the fifth place in the Premier League standings and sink Leicester, who are bottom with one point.
The Red Devils played better in the first half. During the first 20 minutes both teams managed to keep possession of the ball but without creating any clear goal scoring chances.
However, in the 22nd minute the visitors took the lead thanks to a goal from a counter attack. Fernandes passed the ball to Rashford, and the Englishman found Sancho with space. The former Dortmund man drove the ball and once inside the box, he dribbled past Ward and pushed the ball into the net.
After the goal, Ten Hag's team had control of the game. The Old Trafford side kept possession of the ball and the Foxes struggled to get the ball out of their half. However, just five minutes into the second half, De Gea saved United by making a superb save from Maddison's free-kick to the top corner.
Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo started the match on the bench. The Brazilian replaced Elanga in the 57th minute and the Portuguese replaced Sancho ten minutes later. The home team tried to score the equaliser but there were hardly any goalscoring chances in the second half and Sancho's goal gave the Red Devils the win.
