Man. City v Burnley - as it happened
Thanks for joining me here tonight. See you next time for more action.
FT: Manchester City 5-0 Burnley. A very easy win for City which delays Liverpool's title celebrations.
I did say that the last two results between these two at the Etihad was 5-0...
2 minutes added time.
Burnley sub: Thompson on for Vydra.
Sané steps up and hits the wall.
Goof chance for City here. They have a free-kick right at the edge of the box.
City sub: Foden off for Sané.
I wonder if City will get another goal. Burnley have been non-existent.
A very easy win this will be for City. 8 goals in two matches against Burnley and Arsenal who are 11th and 10th.
This time De Bruyne has an effort but his shot goes wide.
Jesus fires wide from just inside the box. City want more.
Simple. Bernardo to Jesus, Jesus to Foden and the Englishman slots it in the net.
McNeil hits the free-kick which goes miles over the bar.
Cancelo is booked for bringing down Vydra as he was breaking.
Man City sub: Fernandinho off for Laporte.
Man City sub: Mahrez off for De Bruyne.
Burnley sub: Rodriguez off for Pieters.
You wouldn't past City getting another goal here.
Easy peasy for Man City. Bernardo Silva crosses in and David Silva gets on the end of it to make it 4-0.
Foden has a shot which is deflected behind for a corner.
Zinchenko has a shot which hits Silva and goes behind.
And we're back.
HT: Man City 3-0 Burnley. A very easy game for City so far and could be more in the second half.
City sub: Aguero off for Gabriel Jesus.
Lovely penalty. He steps up and slots it into the bottom corner. You can't get any closer to the corner.
VAR awards City a penalty. Mee had fouled Aguero in the box.
2 minutes added time.
Aguero is injured here. Looks like his knee.
And City make it 2-0. The ball is played over the top to Mahrez, he takes it into the box, skins Taylor and fires it into the bottom corner. 2-0 City.
Zinchenko has a shot that goes straight at Pope.
Not too much has happened since the goal from Foden. Burnley will be happy to go in at the break 1-0 behind if they can't score one themselves.
Foden has been on fine form for City since the resumption. That's two goals in two games.
City look like they could easily score more here.
And Foden makes it 1-0. David Silva finds Foden at the edge of the box, and from about 25 yards out he hits it with his left foot into the bottom corner. 1-0 City.
Bernardo Silva has a decent chance from inside the box that he fires wide. He should have got it on target.
Cancelo has a shot from very far out which goes well over the bar.
Burnley have done well to limit City to no chances.
72% possession for City.
So I don't think it will be 0-0 City haven't drawn 0-0 since 2018, and haven't drawn 0-0 at home since May 2018.
No chances yet. City passing the ball about and having much more possession than Burnley.
And we're off.
And the players take the knee.
If City win their next two and Liverpool beat Palace on Wednesday, there will be 20 points to play for with 21 points to play for. If City were to beat Liverpool, there would be a difference of 17 points with 18 still to play for. Surely still too much?
Burnley last beat City in 2015. They last drew away to City in 2014 and they haven't won away to City since 1963...
City have scored 10 goals in their last 2 matches at home to Burnley. 14 in the last three and 17 in the last 4.
It's as simple as that. City have to win and Liverpool will have to wait until at least their trip to the Etihad. A Burnley win will see them go joint 8th.
Burnley XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Brownhill, Westwood, Cork, McNeil, Rodriguez, Vydra.
Man City XI. Ederson, Joao Cancelo, Fernandinho, Otamendi, Zinchenko, Foden, Rodri, Silva, Mahrez, Aguero, Bernardo Silva.
Hello and welcome to Manchester for this Premier League match. Man City need to win to keep the pressure on Liverpool. Team news to come.
