Mamardashvili reveals €50 bet with Vinicius over saved penalty

Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili revealed after his team's 1-2 win over Real Madrid that he bet €50 with Vinicius Junior that he would save the penalty he faced in the 13th minute, which he did indeed stop.

"I had a conversation with Vinicius and won €50. I asked him if he wanted to bet €50, and I won," he told reporters. "He was supposed to pay me, but he hasn't paid yet," he joked.

The bet came after a penalty was awarded by the referee, Cesar Tarrega, for a foul on Kylian Mbappe, a decision that the Valencia goalkeeper agreed with. "I think it was a clear penalty," he admitted.
