After missing two matches and numerous training sessions, Riyad Mahrez returned to the Leicester team in the side's 5-1 thrashing away at Man City.
When asked if the Algerian's behaviour caused Leicesters downfall, Maguire's response was unequivocal: "No , it wasn't a factor at all," he said in an interview with 'Leicester Mercury.'
The Englishman then went on to elaborate on his side's failings: "We gave the ball away cheaply a lot. We were a bit too open in defence and there were too many gaps between us, especially in the second-half. Perhaps when it was 3-1 we needed to consolidate and say we don't concede any more goals."
Leicester boss Claude Puel will be hoping Mahrez's return to action will mark the end of his team's winless run. Their next fixture is Sheffield United in the FA cup on Friday night and will provide the perfect opportunity for the Algerian to prove to the fans that he'll work hard for his club.
