Harry Maguire, Manchester United centreback, is not enjoying his most prosperous season on the pitch and now a so called United fan has crossed the line regarding the player's current situation.
Unfortunately in today's world, many players receive threats, but few are as serious as the one recently received by Maguire. 'The Sun' has reported that a bomb threat has arrived through his letter box.
A source has explained to the English tabloid that the police are taking the matter incredibly seriously. "Him and his teammates receive threats on social media, but this is different. The letter read that three bombs had been planted in his house. He had 72 hours to leave United or they would be detonated. A message full of hate", explained the source, whose identity remains anonymous.
The threat has had the most serious impact on Maguire's wife: "She was hysterical, she doen's feel safe anymore. She has suffered the abuse that her husband has received. They're a close-knit family and Maguire has always put them first, but he won't give in to this".
The police have already put themselves to work. They have deployed sniffer dogs at his home address to detect whether or not the three bombs are actually present.
A spokesperson of the Maguire family described the letter received by the Red Devils' captain as "a serious threat to the family home". "The security of his family and those around him is priority to Harry", he highlighted.
According to 'The Sun', Maguire's home has numerous video surveillance cameras installed and round-the-clock guards in place. "He doesn't want to live like this but he doesn't have any other option. He won't allow them to threaten his family", commented the unknown source.
