Madrid will look to Pochettino if they lose to Liverpool

According to the 'Daily Mail, Real Madrid will turn to Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino if their side suffer a humiliating defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League final.

'Los Blancos' will go to Kiev on May 26 searching for their third consecutive European title. However, they come up against a Liverpool side who boast one of the most potent attacking tridents on the continent.

It's set to be an entertaining final but if Madrid were to lose, there could be reprecussions for current head coach Zinedine Zidane.

The Champions League is their last chance to salvage an otherwise disappointing campaign domestically, in which they lost out on La Liga and the Copa del Rey to eternal enemies Barcelona.

Before their incredible run in Europe, Zidane's job was under intense scrutiny with rumours suggesting that the hierarchy were looking at Pochettino as his replacement.

A thrashing by Liverpool in 10 days time could make the Madrid board return to that thinking, although it wouldn't come cheap for the Spanish giants.

Pochettino still has three years left on his contract, but could be tempted to move if Tottenham don't provide him with a raise and a bigger transfer budget when he holds talks with chairman Daniel Levy this week
