Zinedine Zidane does not want to lose one of his international stars without knowing if he will be able to find a guaranteed replacement for his squad.

Zidane has previously said that he doesn't want James to leave, but the player himself recently said that he could leave in the next transfer window and that he has several offers.

The Colombian has rarely featured for Madrid this season and James' lack of playing time has made him consider his future in order to benefit his playing career.

Madrid players will return from their Christmas break on 27 December, by which time, the midfielder wants hs future resolved.

However, the sanction imposed by FIFA, which prevents Madrid from signing players after having broken rules regarding the signing of underage players, means that Madrid will not want to negotiate a deal until they know the outcome of the sanction.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport will dictate the final sentence on 31 December, but until then Madrid do not want to enter talks for any player, until they are able to look for a replacement.

Furthermore, Zidane's side will not let James leave for less than €60m, meaning there will most probably be an eventful Christmas in the offices at the Bernabeu.
