Madrid squad for Mallorca: only 12 starters amid injury crisis

Real Madrid's La Liga hopes have seemingly faded away after Sunday's 4-3 defeat to Barcelona left them seven points behind with three games to go. To add to their woes, the Merengues are in the midst of an injury crisis ahead of Mallorca's visit to the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Lucas Vazquez are the latest absentees for the 15-time Champions League winners. Forward Vinicius and defender Vazquez have been ruled out for the midweek clash after sustaining an ankle sprain and a thigh injury, respectively, at the Montjuic.
Meanwhile, Rodrygo had to abandon Tuesday's training session ahead of the game after being hit with discomfort. The Brazilian winger will therefore miss back-to-back matches after missing the 'Clasico' due to fever. Aurelien Tchouameni will also be unavailable through suspension.
This takes Real Madrid's absentee list up to ten now, with the situation in defence looking particularly worrying. Raul Asencio is the only starting defender left available at Ancelotti's disposal, as Mendy, Alaba, Rudiger, Militao, Carvajal, and Camavinga are all out with season-ending injuries.
The extended absences make Real Madrid's task of securing a vital win against Mallorca all the harder. Anything less than three points would hand Barcelona the La Liga title and seal off Madrid's season without any major trophy.
