Injuries have been a burden in Gareth Bale's time at Real Madrid, without disregarding the impact he makes in big games, such as Champions League or Copa del Rey finals.
Bale is capable of deciding matches, but statistically speaking, he doesn't win his team matches. A study form ProFootballDB shows that Real Madrid win more when Bale isn't playing than when he is.
ProFootballDB, BeSoccer's resident statisticians, show that since Bale's arrival to Real Madrid, he has played 65.4% of matches and not played in 34.6%. Out of the ones that he has played, Madrid have won 65.5%; in the ones he hasn't played, they have won close to 74%.
The increase in wins means that on the other hand, without the Welsh forward, Madrid draw less and lose less. There has been much discussion about him and his future is up in the air again.
