Madrid and Benfica reach Raúl de Tomás deal

'Marca' are reporting that Benfica and Real Madrid have agreed a deal for Raúl de Tomás, with the player's seal of approval reportedly all that is needed for the transfer to go through.

A Real Madrid youth academy product, it seems that De Tomás won't get the chance to wear the famous white shirt next season after Luka Jovic's arrival in the Spanish capital. Now, the player looks set to move across the border and play for Benfica next season.

Although Madrid originally demanded 35 million Euros for the striker, it is reported that Benfica will pay just over 20 million.

'Marca' say that Benfica president Luís Felpe Vieira travelled to Madrid on Monday to finalise the deal. An agreement between the two teams has now been reached, with just the thumbs up from the player himself needed. This shouldn't be a problem, however, with Benfica offering the 24 year-old Champions League football and the chance to fight for a league title.

For now, it is not known whether the deal will include a buyback clause or a first-option clause in case of any future offers.

De Tomás stood out during the last two seasons on loan at Rayo Vallecano, where he scored 38 goals in 66 games.
