Gento played for Real Madrid during their golden era in the 1950s and 1960s, winning the European Cup an incredible six times. He then went on to become an ambassador, before being made honorary president.
Speaking on the subject of Real's upcoming Champions League final against Liverpool, the Madrid legend stated that he believes that his club can seal another golden era by making it three Champions League trophies on the trot.
Geto cannot wait for the final, which takes place on May 26 in Kiev, and says that it's a must-watch game. "Everyone gets excited by these kind of games," he explained. "Everyone wants to be there to support the team and cheer them on to win another European Cup and continue this great run we're in and which we have always enjoyed."
He called on his team to seize this chance, saying second place is not good enough for a team like Real. "Madrid cannot let this chance slip," he stated. "Finals are to be won, not played and Real Madrid know what is at stake."
What he said next will rub Liverpool fans up the wrong way, however. When asked if he saw Madrid winning the game or not, he didn't even give Liverpool a look in. "That goes without saying," he said. "It will be a piece of cake."
A very bold statement, despite the fact that Madrid are favourites.
