Romelu Lukaku surprised everyone on Twitter this Wednesday after acknowledging that he had suffered from mental health problems in 2018. The striker, one of Europe's most in-form players, said that he would speak about it in depth soon.
The Belgium player took part in an online Q&A on the social media site, when this question appeared: "I went through mental illness during the lockdown. As a player how did you deal with mental illness Big Rom?"
"I went [too] through some issues in 2018, going to talk about it real real soon", was the striker's reply, who revealed that he doesn't listen to his critics as much as he used to: "I don't care at all. I think my work shows my mentality. I always try to improve and win the most important matches", he said on the matter.
Lukaku, who has netted three goals so far at the Euros, finished his season at Inter with 30 goals and 11 assists in 44 matches. He was one of the key players of a 'nerazzurri' side that celebrated winning Serie A for the first time in ten years.
