Luis Figo reveals players he would swap between Barcelona and Real Madrid

Luis Figo was involved in one of the most controversial transfers in football history when, in 2000, he decided to leave FC Barcelona for Real Madrid while he was one of the biggest stars at Barça, after the team chaired by Florentino Perez paid his €62 million release clause, a record transfer fee at the time. 

Speaking about this topic in an interview with Marca, the Portuguese icon named a player from 'Los Blancos' and another from the 'Cules' who would be a great boost for their eternal rivals if they decided to make the same decision he made 25 years ago. 

"Perhaps Pedri from Barça. If it were the other way around, from Real Madrid, it would be Valverde. They are great players.  They always perform at the highest level. They are a safe bet. And they are important to their teams,” he said.

In addition, Figo also stated that the transfer that has surprised him the most so far was Neymar's world record move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain. "First, because of what Barça paid and then because of what PSG paid. Logically, what surprises me today is what is paid for what I consider to be normal transfers. Nowadays, paying 60-70 million is normal. And that’s still a lot of money,” he conlduded.
