Barcelona has lived through five very turbulent months from the dismissal of Valverde to the coronavirus, including the confrontation between Messi and Abidal. Now, Robert Fernandez has reviewed all that's happened.
"Luis Enrique is a great coach and I am convinced that he will return to Barcelona because he knows the club and that way of understanding football. Barcelona should never negotiate his style," began the former Barcelona director.
For Robert Fernández, Valverde arrived "at a difficult moment" because of the departure and the void left by Neymar, but little by little he straightened out his course. "He worked very well with the two coaches," he continued.
Of course, the former technical secretary spoke about Leo Messi and his alleged powers within the team: "He commands what he has to command. He's a smart guy and more than people can imagine. It's important that he's comfortable, but the responsibility lies with the athletic director."
Robert moved on to defend Dembélé, who is in the spotlight for his poor performance and many injuries. "He has all the conditions. He's very young and will change the dynamic. He paid a lot because the market was very swollen at the time," he finished.
