Luis Enrique's return as Spain coach will be on 3rd September against Germany on the opening matchday of the Nations League after the decisions made by the UEFA Executive Committee.
The European organisation mapped out the competitions after the coronavirus pandemic for the end of this season and the beginning of the next one. Luis Enrique's return will be on 3rd September away to Germany.
UEFA agreed to respect the international calendar and in addition, it included an extra match for the October and November windows, months in which the Spain national team will play three games.
Spain, who are in the Nations League group with Germany, Switzerland and Ukraine, will have time to play two friendlies as well as the six matches in those three windows.
Luis Enrique's return comes after he left because his daughter became seriously ill. He returned on 27th November 2019, but he has not been able to take charge of a game because of the coronavirus crisis. The friendlies against Germany and Holland as well as Euro 2020 were postponed.
