Spain is in the Nations League Final following an impressive win on the European champions, Italy. Gavi Paez, one of the surprising names in Luis Enrique's list, was named in the starting line-up for the match despite only having five La Liga appearances.
Gavi made his first appearance and start for the Spanish national team at 17 years old, and left the international press speechless. The Barcelona gem broke the record of the youngest Spanish cap held by Angel Zubieta Redondo, who donned the Spain jersey for the first time in a 1936 friendly against Czechoslovakia when 17 years and 284 days old.
"He can be the future of this team, but he can also be its present too because he has the personality to play at this level", said Luis Enrique.
Spain will play the Nations League final on Sunday 10th October at 20:45 against the winner between France and Belgium, who play on Thursday 7th October.
