Lucas Moura is the new Kane

After the injury to Tottenham player Harry Kane, José Mourinho asked for the arrival of a new striker in the January window. The club didn't sign one and the Portuguese manager opted to reconvert Lucas Moura.

The worst omens were confirmed: Harry Kane will have to go for surgery on his left leg tendon injury, so he should be out until at least April.

Since the news was known, Spurs manager José Mourinho asked for the club to sign a striker. Willian José, Eran Zahavi, Olivier Giroud were being linked... but in the end no one was signed.

Amidst the absence of a number 9, the Portuguese manager decided to reconvert Lucas Moura as a false 9 which, for now, is paying off handsomely.

With Southampton winning 2-1, the Brazilian scored the equaliser to make it 2-2 and was crucial to help Tottenham comeback and seal their passage to the next round.

During his time at PSG, Lucas Moura was used to playing on one of the wings, but at Napoli, he already played up top. A position which José Mourinho is trying him in again to fill the void left by the absence of Harry Kane.
