Germany's UEFA Nations League defeat made history for 'Die Mannschaft'. Löw's men became the first German team in history to lose six competitive matches in a year, unthinkable considering when considering the talent in the squad.
Löw took the positives from the 2-1 defeat to 'Les Bleus': "I’m disappointed with the result, but this loss feels different to the one last Saturday. The result wasn’t good enough, but the team’s performance definitely was.
"t’s a fantastic step-up in quality within just three days", he told 'DFB.de'.
When asked what he was particularly pleased by he praised his players' courage and determination.
"We were brave and pushed forwards confidently. We played on par with the best team in the world. We could’ve even been 2-0 up by half time.
"France have some unbelievably talented players. If you lose focus, they’ll make you pay the price", he added.
He also made his feelings very clear that in his view, the referee made a mistake in awarding a penalty.
"The penalty was not fair. Mats Hummels didn’t touch him. Matuidi trod on Mats’ foot. We weren’t rewarded for a great performance", he added.
