Porto are going through a very challenging period economically after several crises in a row have left the Portuguese club, like many others in world football, a potential victim of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team announced on Wednesday 28th October that last season was one of the most disastrous in their economic history: they lost 116.16 million euros.
According to 'TMW', this includes a 791 839 euro payment to current Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui.
However, Porto are said to be challenging the debt in court, meaning that the Sevilla coach would be left without part of his salary from the time he spent in Portugal.
