The sale of Philippe Coutinho and the side's run to the Champions League final in Kiev are the primary factors behind the extraordinary figures. Coutinho's sale to Barcelona brought in a reported £145m, while the Merseyside outfit's run to the Champions League final boosted the club's accounts by a reported €81.3m (£71.7m).
The club are breaking the record previously held by Leicester City, who posted figures of £92.5m in 2016-17 after reaching the Champions League quarter finals. The Reds' success off the pitch is currently being matched by performances on it, with the side four points clear at the top of the Premier League table and succesfully through to the Champions League round of 16.
