This season's Liverpool and last season's are two very different teams both in terms of numbers and results. The English champions' win ratio has fallen by around 24%, while the draw ratio has risen by 18% and the loss ratio has risen by 5%.
These figures show a somewhat declining Liverpool who no longer give off the feeling of an unbeatable rival that they did before. It has not yet ceded first position in the Premier League, of its progress in the FA Cup or in the Champions League. It has only fallen in the EFL Cup at the hands of Arsenal.
Jürgen Klopp himself asked for understanding at one of his last press conferences. The team, weakened by the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, is having serious problems incorporating players in this winter market and has suffered quite a few major losses, such as Virgil van Dijk.
"We have lost three central players and nobody says it, nobody says that it is something that has changed everything for us. Nobody is interested. Neither the experts nor the journalists because we are Liverpool and we have to win games," the coach said in a vindictive tone.
