Harvey Elliott was back in action on the second day of the Premier League. The 18-year-old English right winger started the 2-0 win over Burnley and played the full 90 minutes of the match.
In the season opener, Elliott had already played six minutes against Norwich. Jürgen Klopp brought him on in the 84th minute, enough time to convince him to start on the second matchday of the Premier League.
After the match against Burnley, Klopp praised his player's great performance in a press conference: "Everyone asks me about Harvey. When an 18-year-old plays as a starter and in such a mature way, it's normal to get questions, but I'm not surprised.
"He's been training like this all pre-season. He's an exceptional talent. He can play as a midfielder, as a winger.... We wanted to try him in the middle. He dribbles, passes... He's a different player," he added of Elliott, who at just 16 made history by becoming the youngest Reds player to play in an official match.
Saturday's game was Elliott's first start in the Premier League, a competition in which he had already played five games, but all of them coming off the bench in the final minutes.
