Liverpool's Gravenberch enjoying new freedom after Anfield derby triumph

Ryan Gravenberch was one of the standout players in Liverpool's victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby. The Dutch midfielder contributed a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win at Anfield, consolidating the Reds' perfect start to the Premier League season with five consecutive victories.

After the match, the player spoke to TNT Sports from the sidelines. “I’m really happy with the goal. Last season I didn’t score a lot, so I’m happy that I could score. Especially in the Merseyside derby as well,” he said.

Gravenberch explained that the goal came about thanks to the vision of his Egyptian teammate, Mohamed Salah. “We know if Mo has got the ball, he has an incredible pass. We know if someone is on the ball side, they have to go through and the space is coming behind. I saw it and I went in behind… and I did a thing!” said the Dutchman about the goal.

The midfielder also highlighted the importance of the demanding week, in which Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and then their eternal local rivals in the league. “Yeah, really happy with that as well. We had three games in seven days. We know in England it’s really tough. But we prepared well and at the end we are happy with the three points, so we keep going now,” he highlighted.
