Three goals in 19 first-half minutes saw Liverpool overcome their Premier League rivals Manchester City at Anfield to put one foot in the semi-final on Wednesday night.
It was a breathtaking performance from the 'Reds' who have won many plaudits this season for their attacking intent, scoring 110 goals in all competitions already.
In Europe, their tally currently stands at 31 after those three against City - the most of any team in the competition this campaign.
Liverpool are, in fact, four goals ahead of Paris Saint-Germain (27) in second, who were eliminated in the Round of 16, and six in front of Real Madrid (25).
Bayern Munich (23) and City (19) make up the top five but it would difficult for those clubs to catch up with the Merseyside outfit, who seem to be striking the perfect balance at the right time.
Not only did they successfully find the target on Wednesday, but they prevented Pep Guardiola's side from grabbing an all-important away goal, and if they can put in a similar performance in the return leg next week, a place in the semi-final will await Jurgen Klopp's men.
