Valencia v Real Madrid - as it happened

Full time sees the game finish as a draw. Late drama denies Valencia the three points, as Soler's original goal is cancelled out by Benzema's last minute goal. Both team's didn't deserve to lose, but Valencia were the best team in the second half and they will be disappointed to lose two points at home.

It turns out Valencia could not hold on, as they give away a corner. The corner is rather messy as everyone is in the box and even Courtois is up, he has a head at goal from the original corner and it is saved, but there is a little bit of a scuffle and the ball lands at Benzema's feet, and he confidently fires it into the back of the net. You can see how much that means to Madrid. 1-1!!

Jovic slots the ball into the back of the net, but it apparently hits Ramos' arm on the header towards him and so the goal is not allowed!! That could have been their last chance to get something out of the game.

There is a VAR check in place to see if Luka Jovic did commit a foul. It is confirmed he did and he goes into the book.

Ferran Torres comes off for Diakhaby as Valencia try to see out these last few minutes

What a bit of play from the home side!! A great run down the pitch from Wass, sees him pass the ball into the box from the right hand side and it finds Soler, who calmly and confidently slots the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net. A deserved lead based on this second half performance! A wonderfully-worked team goal! 1-0!!

Bale's first act is to cheaply lose possession near the touchline, allowing Valencia to build another attack.

Great chance for Valencia!! Vallejo plays a delightful low ball into the box for Rodrigo, but Courtois is able to get there moments before the Valencia striker.

Valencia have attacked with much more intent in this half and it's translated into a period of play where they've dominated. During the interval it felt like they might be content with a point, but currently, Valencia look like the team more likely to find a winner!

The referee blows the whistle with no added time in the first half. This was a half of two parts, with Real Madrid strongly dominating the first part and having all the possession and all the shots, but suddenly Valencia grew into the game and started pressing a lot more. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the second half.

Carvajal has space on the right and cuts into the area, but his low shot is blocked. From the follow-up, he sends in a dangerous cross, but that's headed away.

Valencia have grown into this game and have had the better of the chances in the last 10/15 minutes!
